ABOUT

MAOF (Maria Alejandra Ochoa Ferrer) is a Venezuelan Spanish American abstract painter based in North Texas.

Early in career, Alejandra lived in Madrid, Spain where she worked as an architect. In 2012, she moved to the USA starting her journey as a painter, after pursuing art studies in Collin College and The Art Students League of New York. Art and painting have been constant inspirations in her life. She is focused on large scale formats, where she discovered the freedom of the expression. Her works are displayed in the USA, UK, Spain, Sweden, and Venezuela.

My work is inspired by nature, imaginary places, and my personal interaction with the world. My composition is based on movement, energetic brush marks, freedom, layers, and the use of a dynamic palette. The dynamism of the expression is reflected in the process, where the large canvas can change constantly during its journey between the floor and the wall”.
